How Do I know if I have Neuropathy?

During a physical exam, our doctors take several steps to assess the main symptoms and signs of neuropathy. Here’s an overview of the process:

  1. Medical History: The doctor will start by taking a detailed medical history, including asking about the your specific symptoms, their duration, and any factors that may contribute to neuropathy (such as diabetes, vitamin deficiencies, or exposure to toxins).
  2. Physical Examination: Next, a physical examination to assess the your overall health and look for signs of neuropathy is done. This may include checking your reflexes, muscle strength, and coordination.
  3. Neurological Examination: A neurological examination is a key part of assessing neuropathy. The doctor will evaluate your sensory function (such as touch, temperature, and vibration sensation) and motor function (such as muscle strength and coordination) to detect any abnormalities that may indicate neuropathy.
  4. Other possible tests include: Nerve Conduction Studies, Blood Tests, Imaging Studies
